Warranty Information

1. Standard Warranty 

• We offer a standard 12-month manufacturers’ warranty on all products sold by Safety and Security Warehouse, unless otherwise specified. 
• For certain items, extended warranties of 2, 5 or up to 10 years may apply (see individual product pages for details).
• This warranty assures that our products meet high standards for domestic and commercial use and is a limited warranty. 

2. Who is Covered 

• This warranty covers the original purchaser of the goods purchased directly from Safety and Security Warehouse.
• You must retain proof of purchase (invoice, order confirmation) to make a warranty claim. 
• The warranty is not transferable to subsequent owners or purchasers. 

3. What the Warranty Covers 

Subject to the terms below, this warranty covers defects in workmanship or materials under normal use, provided: 

• The product has been used only for its intended purpose. 
• The product has been installed in accordance with our installation guidelines (where applicable). 

4. What the Warranty Does Not Cover 

This warranty does not cover faults or damage resulting from: 

• Misuse, abuse, neglect, accidental damage. 
• Improper or substandard installation. 
• Failure to follow user instructions or maintenance instructions. 
• Extreme environmental exposure (e.g. temperature, UV, chemicals) causing degradation or deformation. 
• Any modifications or alterations made without prior written consent. 
• Claims made by anyone other than the original purchaser.
• Normal wear and tear or cosmetic defects that do not affect functionality. 

5. Warranty Period 

• The warranty period begins on the date of delivery of the product. 
• The coverage lasts for 12 months, unless a longer warranty is specified for that product. 
• For products with extended warranties, the same conditions apply — only defects in workmanship or materials are covered for the extended period.

6. Making a Warranty Claim 

To make a claim under this warranty, you must provide: 

• A description of the defect, including photographs. 
• Proof of purchase (order number, invoice, date). 
• Any supporting information (installation details, maintenance records, etc.).

We reserve the right to require additional information, inspection, or return of the product before approving a claim. 

7. Return of Faulty Goods 

• The purchaser is responsible for returning the product to us unless we agree otherwise. 
• We recommend using a trackable shipping method and insuring the item — we are not liable for loss or damage during transit unless our fault. 
• For the first approved warranty claim, we will cover the outbound shipping cost of replacement or repair.  

8. Remedy 

If your claim is accepted, at our discretion, we will: 

• Repair the defective product, or 
• Replace it with the same or a similar product, or 
• Offer a refund in lieu of repair/replacement when repair or replacement is not feasible.  

The warranty period does not reset or renew after a repair or replacement — it continues from the original purchase date. 

9. Rights under Australian Consumer Law 

• This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). 
• You are still entitled to remedies (repair, replacement or refund) under the ACL for major failures or where goods fail to meet consumer guarantees. 
• Nothing in this warranty is intended to exclude or limit rights you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.
